Should You Get Liability Insurance For Your Airbrush Tanning Business?

Posted by Leave a Comment

I am being asked all the time if I would recommend for airbrush tanning technicians to get insurance and my answer is YES!

Here are a few reasons why.  Liability insurance gives you peace on mind.

Let me tell you a true recent story. The other day when I was training a student, she brought her own machine to the training.  She used it for the first time in the training class.  While she was spraying the customer, suddenly the hose came out of the machine.  She either did not place the hose tight enough into the machine or the new machine could have been malfunctioned.  At the same time when the hose came off, the spray gun suddenly splashed some solution out and it splashed on to the model.  Fortunately it was splashing on the leg and not in the face/eyes and luckily nothing bad happened.  She had just started to spray the legs, but that made us think.  What would have happened if the solution would have splashed into the models face and/or into the eyes?  Are you following me here?

Another incident one of my previous student had when she was doing a mobile tan at someone’s house.  She had spilled some solution on to the customers carpet and called me to find out how to remove the solution out of the carpet.

Ok so these are the only 2 incidents that I know of so far and this is why I recommend for you to get the insurance for mobile spray tanners.  I am sure other things can happen too but these are two recent stories of possible incidents.  There may be other things that could happen and we never know, so for peace of mind, I would definately recommend for you to get the insurance.

Have you had a bad incident when spraying customers? Please share it below.
